Lamfography takes its root from the New York street acronym (LAMF) representing the DIY music aesthetic of the mid to late 1970's and combining it with the suffix "ography." Put the two together and you have Andy cruising the highways on his Moto Guzzi, constantly making the wrong decisions and then spending most of his time trying to extricate himself with the least amount of trouble.
He was part of the San Francisco punk scene from 1981 through 1989, working at the Chatterbox, DNA Lounge, Paradise Lounge, Wolfgangs, and other Bill Graham venues. He also worked at KUSF and KQAK radio.
Apparently, he can't keep a job.
He is obstinate, rebellious and oppositional. Especially when jam bands are anywhere within a 100 mile radius.
At present, he is working on a gallery show of photographs chronicling roadside crosses entitled "Unfinished Business," and two other books.
Besides photography, he plays records on the radio in Boulder, CO.
He lives in Boulder with his family.
